Glasses Lenses

Glasses work by positioning a lens in front of the eye to adjust the focal point. The main cause for individuals needing glasses is because of the eye being unable to fully focus an image onto the retina. The two widespread eyesight problems are Myopia, usually referred to as short -sightedness, and Hyperopia, long-sightedness. Myopia victims can’t concentrate on objects that are distant, so a bus number, or motorway sign is blurred, as the eye’s lens has not focused the picture into the correct focus on the retina. Lenses for short-sightedness have a ‘negative’ lens, which redirects the image to the central point on the retina, thus creating a clear image. Continue reading
